Here are some pc titles I thoroughly enjoyed. Panzer General 1-3 Civilization 1-3 Medal Of Honor series Doom 1-3 (and various other FPS types) Flight Sim 2004 Freelancer Privateer Bunch o RPGs There was a ton more, but this was a start of some of the more recent ones and some older ones I really liked. Was a tabletop wargamer and an Advanced Dungeons and Dragons gamer for years. Of course played pc games as well. Got into flight sims and combat flight sims for a while. Then got stuck into strategic 'god' type pc games. Kept up on the various first person shooters that came and went. Really enjoyed the space type games where commerce played a big part (Privateer and more recently Freelancer). Hmm, lots more but will be quiet now and see what you people may add.

yea Freelancer was great, shame they never made an expansion for it, I completed the story quite quickly. I also play FS2004, though not so much recently, as they've just brought out Squawkbox 3, and I now get terrible frame rates online. I've got all the IL-2 games, used to play them loads, if anyone else has played this using the ubi.com game client, they might just recognize my name (Used to be in the MD squad...) I've been going there for quite a few years. As far as FPS games go, I love Operation Flashpoint and Raven Shield, as well as Half Life 1 and 2, and a while back (before I went to Australia) I used to play Planetside, was great fun. Came back from Oz in November, and got into Rome Total War, bloody brilliant game. And then in the anticipation of SH3, no game at all seemed to satisfy me, lol And now I don't really play anything else... As with you, lots more games, but that's enough typing for now

I thought freelancer was a masssive letdown. It was going to be so great before the guy with the ideas left. He was going to make it epic, but it just turned into an arcade. There never really was much fun, or point in the trading and the missions were poor. But privateer! Yes a great game, lots of fun, when are they going to make another! I think i have pretty similar taste to you guys other then freelancer :/ Iwar was great also, i war 2 i think it was. Wicked ship controls ect. I also love medal of honour and call of duty games, cant beat them. Doom 3 scares the poop out of me, but it doesnt work well on my computer so i am not playing it till i get a better one. Games i am waiting for are the new morrowind, and some decent tank games ect, and the expansion for that great silent hunter 3 game. Im sure that will rock

Find an copy of Panzer General: Scorched Earth for a great tank game. It is not a sim, you don't get a first person perspective of driving a tank. Bloody wonderful game though. If you ever were into table top war gaming then more or less it is Panzer Blitz made for the PC. I agree somewhat with freelancer being a let down. It in no way measured up with Privateer. I just so wanted to like it because I love that genre of game, yet they are far and few between. Although my brother is playing one now he says is great, will see what it is called and try to remember to report back. I think Civilization 3, and the previous ones, has to be my most played game(s). I keep going back for a game every now and again, even after all these years. I enjoyed the original Masters of Orion game, the 2nd one was ok, the last one sucked in my opinion. Was one I was looking forward to but was let down big time. I actually meant to buy Half Life 2, but never got around to it. Never played the first one either. Is weird, cause I enjoy a good FPS from time to time. Can't find my bloody CD key that was on the back of the Doom3 manual so can't play that again either. Must write them and see if there is anything (short of buying the game again) that can be done about that. Oh, enjoyed the Star Wars Tie Fighter games too. There were a few of them too. There have been so many, almost scary when I look at how much I must of spent over the years. Oh well, not so bad, I gave up drinking and took up gaming. So probably saving money this way ;D

Games that i played lately? Half life 2 (3h), Doom3 (2 days), Rtw (2h), Sims 2(2 weeks), Playboy the mansion (3h), farCry (3 weeks), Mtw+Nap tc (2 months), Bf1942 desert combat (1 week), Sid Meyers Pirates (2 weeks), X2 the thread (3 hours), Sid Meyers Alpha centauri and addon (1h), Gothic 2 (2 weeks), Il2+fp+aep+pf (2h) and Morrowind (2h every single day since January 2003). Still have them all instaled. (2 installs for Mtw+vi and Mtw+Nap, 3 Morrowind instals, a clean 1, with only the addosn, a clean 1 for doing or testing mods and a 3th 1 with more then 5gigas datafiles from the hundreds of mods used or in use). So far Sh3 is the only game that manage to make Me stop playing Morrowind and Nap (As I simply refuse to play Rtw, 2 fancy but not involvent) for more then a week. And hope it keeps this way.

Freaky we all have nearly the exact same taste in games, from your list gen lee, and also the tie fighter games ect.
I suppose you can tell a personality from games people play, or their intelligence or how their mind works... or maybe nothing lol
But my friend doesnt like sims, (though i got him into sturnovik online) He likes graphics, im more into the brains of a game.
Other then sh3 one of the games i had the most fun with lately was call of duty online, but my computer connection dies all the time because my usbs are damaged. It is too addictive though, so much fun!

I loved Cod offline but online was to fast for My taste (A bit like Mohaa, where I played on a league for months). Im a fan of Bf1942 Dc and Eod mods online. Unfortunalty I cant play more then a game at once. Was stucked with Red Baron3d (Still got Full canvas jacket installed, btw) for years, then Crimson skies and tribes 2, then Ghost recon, Il2 and Bf1942. But the ultimate game, that really made Me stop playing all the others, is Morrowind (Im still strugling every night to go play it instead of Sh3, so far no sucess, heheheh)!

It is possible. I tried Freelancer online about 3 times for about 15 minutes each time. At the time I was on dial up so was pretty much unplayable. But I gave it a go and was online so maybe it was me You in based in New Zealand by any chance? Likely I would of gone with the best ping servers and that would of been a Kiwi or maybe Aussie server. Does not always work that way though. My dial up was weird and sometimes I got better pings across vast oceans .... lol

Been giving X2 The Threat a try. it seems pretty cool so far, although I have only just had a quick look. Looks like a good one in the Privateer/Freelancer type game genre.

Most flight simulators and the Combat Mission series particularly the last two' Barbarossa to Berlin' and 'Afrika Korps'. there are masses of great mods out there for both games.

oh yes, Combat Mission is really fantastic. I've only got the first one, though, I just reinstalled it. The game came in a big box with a 200-page printed manual... wow The graphics are pretty awful, and moving the map around isn't very intuitive, but it's definitely one of the best strategy games ever. Very realistic, too, the way it models line-of-sight, bullet trajectories, and the way that shells damage tanks. I'm downloading the Afrika Korps demo at the moment, can't wait to try it. Just realised that you can buy the Combat Mission Anthology (all three games) off Amazon.co.uk for just £10! bargain!
