Ok.... I must say I LOVE this game more than I have loved a game since Half Life 1 came out.
But there are two things that are Ticking me off and wanted to know if anyone else has run into them.
1) I had one patrol where it rained all the way from Wilamshaven to AN21 (near Scappa). The Navigator weather report said rain....cool.
But after a extended stint under water ...the Navigator said "Overcast"... and said this for the next WEEK! All the way through my partrol and all the way home. Thing is IT WAS POURING rain the WHOLE patrol. From Port to patrol and back to port.
2) There are times when I will tell my crew (especially the engine crew for some reason) to go "Ahead full speed" and it takes them a good 4 min to change speed. This also happens with diving also.
Anyone else have this??

I get a good mix of rain and fine weather. Although, it is always beautiful weather when I leave my home port to begin a patrol. You guys ever had bad weather to start with?

The "no rain" leaving port was purposely done to avoid wetting the nurses white blouses. A U-Boat crew can only be asked to leave behind, so much.

Im running v 1.2 Funny that the rain (even when Nav says No precipitation) happend all during my 2nd patrol. But I am on my 5th and havent had ANY rain on patrols 3,4, or 5. Not that Im complaining here.... in the 2nd patrol with rain...I almost RAMMED a cargo ship looking for him in the fog. I was speeding around when out of no where he pops up about 400 meters in front of me

Unless you are going from point A to point B .. I have found it's best to keep time compression at 64 or 128 ... ESPECIALLY in rain and fog and when chasing.. 90% of my attacks are done in the dark which makes for lousy SS and when due to our lovely rain/fog visability its less than 300m (as shown in Cat in the dark) it's real easy to run up on a ship even at real time.. also Ive found most of the rain and fog encountered so far seems to be North of Ireland (which is normal for N Atlantic) .. another tip .. train those watches, rate at least 1 officer in watch and they'll see them before you can no matter how good that vid card is

I was surfaced with a Full watch (full green with one officer rated on watch and one petty officer also rated).
I was tracking him with the hydrophone..and using time accel. I think when my watch guys sighted him (and time accel stopped and gave me the situation boxes to choose attack, continue..) I popped up from the nav table to the bridge and he was RIGHT there with his aft facing me bearing 0 deg.
So I popped one fish into him and down he went.

Well I jinxed myself.... going out for my 5th patrol weather was good. By the time I got to AN28 it was pouring. I must have chased two cargo ships for two days before I finally gave up. I could hear thier screws LOUD and clear several times from the hydrophone. But could never spot them I finally gave up (I did get two C4s before the weather turned bad) and wanted to port so I could get my VIIB!! My 4th patrol left me 200 renown shy So this was more or less a quick patrol anyway.....
