Anyone ever ' re supply' at friendly base while out on patrol?
I am on 10th Patrol from Wilhelmshaven and that took me though the channel where and encounter with a Torpedo boat KIA 3 of my crew. Then encounter with 2 planes sent some old destroyers onto me .So far I am ok but I may take the long way around England on my return and would like to top up in Lorient. I have read that it is possible to re supply at other bases and was wondering if anyone has done it successfully?

Madmike, If you are going try resupply why not pull in to St Nazaire easy approach. No rivers or narrow channels to Nav. I was embarassed on my last approach I was looking for the spot were i left from You know the bands and welcome party I crashed into pier trying to make a sharp turn. ;D Now I made a note on how to find it this time if I get back from patrol 3. ;D OH the boat did not sink but did some damage to bow. ;D Later Lane

Hi Lane old chap, saw where you damaged your bow, making that sharp turn,I hate that when trying to get alongside a dock, and crew says "taking damage sir !!".As an old seadog (like yourself),you know we need independant port and starboard engine control,to "twin screw"when manouvering in dock---or lining up a torpedo shot---And a crewman to tie up a bowline to the dock, while you twin screw the stern in---Ah well maybe in SH4 ;D

Ok ,
I went to Lorient to re supply . Found base found sub pens . Docked in a sub pen and left mission .What happens next is that the mission is finished! Over . I could not re supply and have since read that this feature isnt working yet .
So I end up a new mission to travel from Lorient to Brest however Brest isnt a port on my map yet so I think I travel back to Wilhemshaven .
Anyway the long and short of it is that re supply dont work .
enjoy your playing .

UNLESS you recieve a radio message directing you to resupply at a certain base or location ... your mission is simply return to base (for you diehards you can steer yourself into post, or like me if out of torpedos, ammo, etc I simply go to the Kaptains cabin, hit esc, return to base, catch some zzz's, and let my able crew dock the mother)
