My next patrol had me going back to GR sector. Off the coast of Spain I ran into a small convoy and was detected. 2 destroyers attacked, while the convoy shagged ass. One depth charge hit destroyed my conning tower. I was down as deep as 175 Meters to finally shake the 2 destroyers. Thank god I was close enough to base. I had to chance running on the surface with no lookouts. I got lucky and made it back to base without being detected or attacked. I'm in port awaiting my next patrol. It is March 1943.

Hello all,

My next patrol has me again going to the GR sector. So far I have traveled at slow speed and have done a very good job of conserving fuel. Better results so far on the way to Cape town. So far I have bagged a small merchant (sunk with gun fire) a C2, a C3 and a Liberty ship. Right now its April 1943 and I'm just south of Freetown. I'll post results of this patrol next time I play.

Hello all,

Made it to Capetown , did my patrol time and headed to Capetown to see if there were ships docked. Sure enough there was a T2 , C2 ,and Small merchant. All were sunk and headed for home. Near Freetown U460 (milk cow) is north of Freetown. Able to link up and now I'm at Null. Heading back to base for next patrol assignment. No contacts back to base. Slightly damaged by a aircraft attack off the Spanish coast. Made it back to base ok.

July 1943: My next patrol has me again going to the GR sector. However this time I only get as far as the Spanish coast. I'm attacked by 3 aircraft and they score 2 hits on me. Stern tubes destroyed along with my port rudder. Minor flooding but the crew was able to control it. Hull down to 62% .Without my stern tubes I decide to return home for repairs. Was attacked 2 more times by aircraft and suffered conning tower damage. Nothing too severe. Made it back to port in one piece.

Sept 1943: My next patrol has me again going back to Capetown area. Snorkel became available and had it installed. Also loaded my stern tubes with 2 IV homing torpedoes. Just underway. Snorkel works great!! ;D

Hello all,

Continued my patrol to the GR sector. AGAIN I'm slammed by aircraft off the Spanish coast. My periscope is damaged, so AGAIN I'm forced to return to port.
Made it back to port in one piece. awaiting my next patrol. It is now late Sept. 1943.

Hello all,

My next patrol had me going to the CF sector. Was able to arrive on station without any problems. Been cruising for 2 days . picked up one contact closed to within 9000 meters before my radar warning went off and had to crash dive. Had to let a Liberty ship get away. One thing I'm learning fast is that by 1943 clear weather is the LAST thing a U-boat skipper wants to see. Still patrolling CF sector, will post again once this patrol is done.

Found a convoy in the BE sector, This troop transport was one of many victims. Sunk 3 other tankers as well. My first screen shot posted ;D ;D ;D

Hello All,

My next patrol has me going to DN sector. Along the way I came across these 3 ships.....





The first photo I had to put another ell into both of them to sink them. The 2nd pic. only took one. Those Liberity ship capsize easily if you hit them just right. Will post again once I hit something worthwhile.

Finished with the convoy, and headed home. My next patrol had me going to the BE sector. In BE66 I found a hunter killer group, and I left well enough alone. Plus in broad daylight it was not a smart idea to tangle with them. This patrol was a very good one sank 13 ships total including 4 destroyers. A hot bed of merchant traffic was BF 71. I sank 8 ships just in that one grid during a 6-7 day period. Finally ran out of torpedoes and headed home. Had to stay submerged during the whole patrol except for a 4 day stretch of bad weather other than that the weather was clear and the planes were THICK!! Thank god for the snorkel, I would have never finished this patrol with out it. Even being 10-15 meters down bombs from aircraft still damaged me. I was down to 78% by the end of the patrol.

In port awaiting my next patrol. It is May 1944 Hoping to make it to the end, I'm starting to get close......

My next patrol had me going to AM11. Started out with claer weather for the first 2 days, after that weather turned bad, Ran across a few contacts and was able to sink 3 Liberity ships and one C3, the picture below is the best of the sinkings.



That was after the first torpedo, you would figure it was going to sink quickly......WRONG The ship stayed afloat for 2 hours at a 30 degree list until I finally had to put another fish into her to finally roll her over!

I'm on station at my patrol grid, hope the weather stays bad so those planes stay on the ground. It is late May 1944.

Did my patrol time and headed south toward AM52 along the way I was detected by a destroyer, I crashed dived and dove to 85 meters. That destroyer put depth charges right on top of me and I sustained heavy damage. Damage control team was on top of the problem, but 2 compartments started to flood. Blew blast when I knew it was going south, but it was too late. I slowly continued to sink until finally I reached crush depth. U105 is committed to the depths.

Damn I came close ......date of sinking June 2 1944
