The cat has grown claws ... U-51 has been passed on, and Das Katz now rides the double gunned con of the new U-107 IXB fully upgraded ... here we see her as she prepares to leave her new base in Lorient after having transfered to the 2nd Flotilla.. Black Cat and 13th Patrol ... should be interesting with alot more firepower (15 forward torpedos, 6 stern with 2 stern tubes) a 105 deck gun, and 2 20mm flak

The key Ive found is not to be reckless, ya dont fight escorts or chase DD's, and dive from aircraft...(you might shoot them down but one lucky bomb and game over Convoy attacks I have found that a rear attack is best slip in target any tankers and go deep and leave the area .. move at least 4000m away surface, take time to reload, move torpedos, rest ... then hit them again As long as you have fuel, time is not important.. why rush

Yep, patience is the key. I'm on my fifth patrol with my original crew, still with my good old VIIB U-45 out of Kiel. Right now I'm in the middle of a convoy just North of Ireland on the main route to Liverpool. If I say it myself, it's quite a good haul. I managed to despatch the single destroyer escort with a single torp as he circled the liner I was using for cover. He was getting irritating ;D. Yay! I can now surface and the convoy is at my mercy. It's calm weather so the deck gun comes into play for the smaller vessels. I get a T3 tanker with one steam torp on fast and set to a meter under her keel on magnetic. She just broke in two and almost lifted out of the water with the force. I got a few more choice targets and there's only another couple of C2's now and a few coastal merchants. As soon as I get my torps reloaded I'll go for the other C2's and head home. I've no HE shells for the deck gun now, so any remaining torps I'll save for possible targets (or trouble) on the way home. I think my score for this patrol is over 60,000 tons. Some more by good fortune than good judgement . Best not to be too greedy, but I still have to get home . Riv

yeah i usually get killed when i get thingyy, or when i get caught in shallow water, or as in the last two deaths, a combination of both Thats amazing you got the escort blitz, i have only ever got one when he was sailing straight, i thought i would go for it and got him at about 2000m. Though he was a lone patrol escort and not a convoy escort. The one time i tried to sink an escort in my current patrol i missed and he and his friends pounded me. I survived and surfaced to see i had the bridge wrecked and both periscopes full torpedoes i headed home embaressed... Never again! Only got one sinking that patrol with the deck gun earlier...
