Hi, I`m new here and this is my first post. I`ve just started SH3 and found this forum.
I was a child during the last war, living in London through the blitz.
I have very clear memories of things that happened at that time - having to sleep at night on the platform of the Elephant and Castle underground station, the blitz and evacuation.
One day, my mother took me out and we joined a huge queue. She told me we were going to see a u boat that had been captured. We were in the queue for a long time and when we got near the front, the air raid warning sounded and we all had to run to the shelter.
The air raid lasted for a long time and there was no going back to view the submarine.
I have an idea that this was somewhere around Greenwich but I don`t know.
Has anybody ever heard anything about the capture of a u boat which the public were allowed to see?
