Kingdom of Heaven was released yesterday, did anyone see it? Its directed by the same fella who directed gladiator, so plenty of battles. It was quite good actually, plus im interested in medieval history.
I wasnt mad on the music score though, which was a shame, because i really like the Gladiator one.

Went to the movies last night, but saw Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy. It was between that and Kingdom of Heaven. Was 4 of us and the vote swung to Hitchhikers. lol Was excatly what I expected, so i enjoyed it. But for someone who has not read the books, be warned, it is Weird. (yes, weird with a capitol W! lol) Will see Kingdoms next

I read them all way back when. I remember enjoying them but when i saw the movie there was a ton I did not recognize. Most likely due to my failing memory as I read them so long ago.

I've not seen either Kingdom of Heaven or the new Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy yet, but I do have the original TV Series of Hitchhiker's on DVD. The special effects (if you can call them that) are so bad they're brilliant . My paperback of the guide is getting rather worse for wear, but as for sequels I recommend "Mostly Harmless". You just have to love the "Perfectly Normal Beasts". ;D

i read "the long dark teatime of the soul" years ago,its by the same author and I thought it was hilarious. I got out the hitchhikers guide a week or so back and loved it,but I wasnt able to get through the second one. i needed some good old non fiction.

On the contrary James. HHGuide to the Galaxy was clever and well done.
It showed how stupid we are and how futile our race is in a monty python kinda of way. We are a race of morons and idiots and this is our future. The good part of the movie, was the destruction of earth was short and sweet. Damn Dolphins. Why didn't we listen? LOL
Kingdom of Heaven intrigues me. I have it and the lore of the christian, muslim differences seems interesting. I hope Orlando Bloom can sell it like Viggo did it for the Lord of the Rings. Sounds like a very good historical depiction of their time.
Ciao, dan
