Time zone does not reallly matter. There always seems to be lots of people online no matter where the server is. Lag does not rear it's head no matter where I go. The biggest choice relating to server is the player vrs player rules. Some servers are dedicated to PvP and it is not an option, you are fair game depending on where you are. On some servers the rules are such that you can choose when and where you want to do some PvP. These are considered player vrs environment (PvE) as PvP does not have to be a big part of the game on these one. Although for some it is all they do. The races are divided up between the Alliance and the Horde. So groups of either will attack the homelands of the 'enemy'. (of course, on PvE servers this is optional, you do not have to join the raid). And one type I have yet to check are are dedicated RP servers. Is a bit difficult explaining it all in 1000 words or less, as I am still pretty much a newb to the game. Anyway, let me know if you get the game, I will make a character on the server of your choice and give you the 30 minute low down on the basics if you like.
