Any of you guys play any good mmorpg? I used to play eve online and had a lot of fun, my character is still out there sometime if i decide to go back (and he is rich! Lol) Then i gave lineage a go, but found it repetetive (though still strangely addictive) and there were some cool people out there. I wondered if anyone knew of any upcoming games or anything. Which have you played? I liked the look of one game, i think it was called daggerfall or darkfall, but i cant find it anymore. It was in development but seems to have vanished Also im about to look at guildwars on the net now, though its made by the same people as lineage which doesnt look too promising...

Haven't tried any MMORPG's myself, but my nephew gets a lot of time and fun out of World of Warcraft. Used to spent a ton of time on several text based MUDs though. Thing about World of Warcraft is apparently you have to keep sending money to be allowed to use the server.

Yeah that is a bit bad, but its never that much. I mean its about £5 Or $10 Or so. Which is not even a night out. So for a few hours or play a month its worth it.
One game im looking at for the moment is by the guys who made lineage (which was a bit crap) and this is called guild wars. But as usual with new games i cant find much out about it, and everyone who has made it says its the best thing since sliced bread....
I will have to try to find more out.

They had have lots of talk about Guild Wars at my online gaming site for buying games here in NZ. Had trial runs and all that. It is the number 1 selling game at the moment too. Not sure if anything there might interest you, but may be a place to start. Might be total rubbish too lol www.gpstore.co.nz/Games/1469167.htmlDo you play WoW by any chance? Was considering giving it a go, but as I said I don't know much about those sort of games.

Was going to get it, talked my friend into getting it, but then never got round to it lol. I personally think they are VERY dangerous (to me anyway) i get addicted so bad i wont go out lolz so im sort of keeping away from it. Partly because my connection is so bad and partly because i dont want to get into the grip of it lol. Though this guild wars seems like you could just have a thrash and not have to be there all the time. My friend has actually started missing football because of it, though he is back now, it was the initial month which caught him! I dont know which to get if any. Think im going to buy a digital camera tommorow instead **Goes to start another off topic thread about cameras lol**

Been wanting to try a MMORPG, so keep me in mind once you figure out which one is considered the best between Guild Wars and World of Warcraft.

The community of MMORPGers seem to be of the opinion that Guold Wars is somewhat more aimed at player v player and World of Warcraft is better for those that like the option to PvP or not. This is just what I picked up in the forums, hard to say how valid it is as I am not familiar with the forum I was at. Oh, and the 'buzz' about Guild Wars not charging for online play is they are going to keep coming out with upgrades for the game that you have to buy. Seeing how it is optimized for PvP people will have to either buy the upgrades or risk not gaining the benefits and strengths of the upgrades and then falling behind those that buy the upgrades.

Ok, went out and bought World of Warcraft. First impressions are great. I am quite impressed with the graphics. I expected it to be cut way back due to the online nature of the game. Now, to see if gameplay keeps up with the graphics.

The servers are divided up into PvP only, Optional PvP, and RP. There seem to be quite a few. I just started a Paladin at Azjol Nerub (sp?). Gonna have to give SH3 a bit of a rest while I check this out.

I beta tested Lineage2 and Guild wars. But As I refuse to play online as soon as they went gold I quit!

It is official, I hate World of Warcraft. Because of it I have no life anymore. No sleep anymore either. It is too damned addicting.
