Sneaking into Scapa Flow

Any hints/tips? With the water so shallow (5m under keel at periscope depth) how is it done?

When I did it, I monitored the patrol patterns of the corvettes and destroyers. I crept in very slowly, even stopping at times to let one of them pass well ahead of me. It took a long time, but I made it in and sank the Illustrious. When you use your hydrophone to sweep the harbour for ships at anchor, they will show up as unknown contacts. When I entered the harbour, I came in from the south. When I left, I went to the west and the only ship I encountered was an E-boat. There were shore batteries, but they didn't see me because it was a very dark night.

I snuck into Scapa Flow twice now and never saw anything more than patrolling destroyers...
