Just finished a patrl in Grid EC. And that Corridor between Cuba and Santo Domingo is FULL OF TANKERS!!!
I swear (should have taken screenies) I sank 5 Tankers there (3 t2s and 2 T3s) in about 3-4 days!! I would have bagged two more in two days on my way out just south Santo Domingo but I was out of Torps !!!
Im headed back there with my IX-D2 (June 1943) ...and im not chasing any ships on my route out the the Carribean so I can save my torps. Im going TANKER HUNTING!!

Hey everyone,
I too can attest to the rich tanker ground in the same area. So far in a 2 day period I have sank 2 T3 and still have plenty of fish left. My only problem is fuel, just under 50% ,so I'm having to patrol at slow speed until I make contact then I race to close the gap. I have the Milk cow mod and I have a supply sub that is not too far away as long as it stays around for several more days. I figure I have enough fuel to patrol the region for another 3 days before I need to head for home. I'll keep you posted on my final tally.

One point I forgot to mentioned It is Aug 1942 for my patrol and I'm driving a IXB,as you cross ED to get to EC watch out for PLANES. They are thick in that region. If you get 950 to 1000 KM away from the south American coast the planes should not bother you. However that all will change once 1943 hits. I'm heading north into the gap as Faamecanic came from the other way. Also one last point about the EC region I had 3-4 contacts coming from the Gulf heading southeast to the South American ports, However with my fuel situation and their distance away from me I could not give chase. This area is worth doing if your in the area.

Hey everyone, Well My final tally for the gap is 3 T3 tankers and 1 small merchant. One other T3 Tanker badly damaged. Put 3 fish in her, but she refused to sink. One small tanker attacked but got away. Both fish I shot at her missed, both bounced off. Had enough fuel to make it to the Milk cow. Reloaded and refueled. Heading north to Iceland to see what trouble I can find up there. So far on the way I have sank 2 coastal merchants by gunfire. Damaged slightly in the exchange but I'm still at 93% hull integrity. Have a good new year, Sink ships in 06....... (hoisting up a cold one)

Hello all, My next patrol had me going to DO97 which is close to the gap. Arrived at patrol grid , did my time and have moved to the gap. Weather is very bad shot at 2 ships on the way both torpedoes bounced off. Damn weather Just arrived in the gap, and saved my game, I'll inform you of round 2 next time I get to play. It is December 28th 1942. I have already saw air cover start to increase, more bombers on patrol now.

Well finally had a chance to finish this patrol and go home. Weather was still bad in the gap but I had good results. 3 T2 tankers 1 Liberty cargo 1 coastal merchant Shot at a small tanker but missed. going too fast to try to give chase so I had to let it go. My next patrol had me going to Cape town S. Africa. Damn long patrol just to get there. However I entered the port and sunk a T2 and a C2 docked. Now I hope I have enough fuel to get home
