How do I get promoted from Luietenant Jr.?

I have already been on 26 patrols and 10 members of my crew have been promoted. I am the leader of the Uboat aces with 350 tons and 2nd place is 256, but yet I have still not been promoted to lieutenant sr. or higher is there anyway to get promoted faster if you actually can. Because I have done everything from kill 10 planes, 5 dif destroyers, and 5 merchants and still nothing..... It seems they give me medals only when I don't do anything. I already have cross 2nd, cross 1st, knight's all the way gold, and the ubout 1st clasp thing. Why have I not been promoted it is bugging the hell out of me. I think promotion is based on your prestige.

Sinking ships gets you prestige, the more valuable the ship (oil tankers) the more prestige. If you are always getting the best equipment then your acheivments are not as great so you will not be promoted as quick (buying new upgrades costs prestige).

If you dont get the latest subs ect you will be promoted quicker!

Dont worry about it too much though As long as your men dont get promoted above you then its ok!!

I heard that by spending too much prestige you can actually get demoted! Lol which is a little unlrealistic but leads us to think its based on how much you have rather then how much you earn.

Promoted to Luietenant Snr after my 11 Mission .

I dont know why as I as just plodding along no large scores (in comparison to others ).Next thing i was promoted and now sail from Brest

Good base into the real convoys now i hope .Maybe No.13 will not be unlucky for me
Patrol B4 I ran intoi at least 20 ships with only three torps fired 3 at c3 cargo one dud other two didnt sink it .

into high waves on trip Home. Can't use deck gun.
Will see if I get a promotion? For Patrol 11.

after Patrols.
