I am in training mode and can't load my external torpedoes, I have tried clicking and dragging whilst surfaced but to no avail.
Any clues please?

Surfaced, not in silent running, enough working class citizens in the appropriate compartment (either fore or aft torpedo rooms, whichever one you are moving). Drag the external torp to the Internal torp storage only, can not go directly to loading into the tube. Click and drag carefully, you have to drop it just so. Mouse over the external torp, if you get a time listed then you have got it going and just have to wait for the time to elapse and it will be moved. You can not (well, I can't) move torpedoes between anywhere in the aft to the fore, or fore to aft. Hope this helps  If you are doing it correctly, then maybe there is some kind of foul up in the training area of the game with this. |

Thanks for that reply, now for another question, I can't erase a course on my map with the eraser, any hints please?

There is an erase, and an erase all icon. If you want to get rid of everything, click the eraser icon that has the little scribble underneath it. That should remove every mark you put on the page.
Not 100% sure how the other one works, I always just erase all.

click the eraser up top right, move it to a way point which will highlight (turn red) and click it .. it will erase that way point, just click the ones you want to erase .. or do like Venge said and hit the erase all and it will clear everything ...
I generally leave all lines drawn showing ship courses as it will give you a pretty good idea of shipping lanes and if you criss cross then you'll run into quite a few targets..
