Make sure the ships you place exist in the year the mission is set.
So there start date is before the mission date, and their end date is after the mission date. As long as you do this they will be there.
Check they are there when you have made the mission by selecting the same time in the top bar of the mission editor. Up in the top there is a date setting, which will show you which years the ships are visible in and which side they are on.
The only things you could have done wrong is placing ships which are to modern for the game (eg are not made yet) or making their start date too late.
Hope that helps.

:)thanx Dom---i will try that later today-and let you know result---i madea mission ok (MP) sub versus sub, seems to work ok-but cant get ppl to stay on surface, and they all leave -----We could do with a chat room in the lobby -like at ubi.com-so we could talk about the game etc BEFORE goin into the room. But all the games with the inbuilt MP are the same like that(CFS3--Wings of War)---ok catch you later--have a good day

mmmm i dont know what you are doing, ok mail me the mission
The folder with the mission you have made mail to
Dominicobaggio@aol.com
Shouldnt be that big, it will be in single missions / english. part of your folder.
I will have a look as its pretty impossible to tell what you have done wrong otherwise.
It has to be a date thing.

The way to imagine it is the entry date is the date the ship was built, and the exit date is the date it dies. (unless its sunk by a player earlier).
So it has to be placed in a mission when it is "alive"
Eg a destroyer entry feb 1941 exit august 1945 wont appear in missions before 41 feb, even if you place it there.
If you sort out these two dates its just a case of placing the ships on the map, then making their waypoints and speed.
