Been meaning to post this, just kept forgetting. Some of you may of noticed this, some might not. The sonar/hydrophone guy will not report a contact that he does not recognise. So when in the hydrophone and manually listening, if you hear a contact that is loud and clear, dial in on it as close as possible. If, in the upper right corner, the note pad lists an "Unknown" contact you need to ident the contact your self. Click on the arrow in that hydrophone note pad and list it as either Warship or Merchant. As soon as you do, your Sonar buddy will announce "Contact, (whatever you identified it as), bearing (whatever it is). So you actually have to learn how to tell the difference in the sounds of the ships and identify them for your sonar buddy. They should of had him report Unknowns as well. Silly really. I almost think he does sometimes, not sure. Seems a b it too hit and miss though.

I just wish he would report more often.... especially when you have him "follow nearest sound contact". The only reason I do that is if Im hunting a ship down.
I think there should have been an option for him to report at 1, 3, and 5 min intervals. Sure would make hunting a ship down in poor visablity easier.

My check box does not function on the hydrophone notepad. Usually when you click on one it turns orange untill you let go. This one stays grey.

For it to work it has to be pointed at and saying 'Unknown' Once you get this you can change it to Merchant or Warship then click the check box. If you are doing this and still can not check teh box then something is up.
