OK easy questions first. No engine room im afraid. Maybe they will add it in an expansion pack if there is demand for it. You should start a petition here, i will sign and when we get enough names i will mail it to them
(Good idea actually i will get on that soon)
Flak gun and deck gun are space bar yes. It took me a while to get the hang of it!!
Now mission editor in a quick 5 minute nutshell.
[glow=red,2,300]Mission Editor!!![/glow]
[/li][li]Ok first you must click new to start the new mission. Then put in the date you want your new mission to start (and time.
[/li][li]Parameters next. All self explanatory, weather ect. Select them all, you can also set the date here. Write a mission description (this is what they will see on the loadup) and a title.
[/li][li]Objectives dont do this yet, it can crash...
[/li][li]Ok now start to drop the ships you want into the map where you want them. Map controls are like the game, zoom with the mouse roller ect. Drag and drop ships from the right of the thingy. Again all self explanatory. Ships planes ect.
When you first drag it over you set all its starting parameters, speed facing ect. Important! if you drop a ship which is not made at the time of your mission it will not appear. Eg a destroyer which is only out in 1942 wont appear in the mission. Then do this for all ships. Make sure you drag a boat and click that as a player ship.
[/li][li]Make waypoints for all your ships. You can choose speed at each waypoint ect so you can make ships speed up and slow down. You can click the number icon in the top that says 11.11 to see the estimated times ships will get to the waypoints (to make sure everyone is on time ect. You can measure the distances with the tool next to that.
[/li][li]Then You can set objectives, again self explanatory blow up a ship, select type. Or tonnage amount ect. I dont think get to an area is working, as i could not set a zone, it would be wicked if someone could show us how to set up zones. As i need one for one of my missions.
[/li][li]You can set triggers, like this ship blowing up or 12.00.
[/li][li]You can then set an event tied to one of the triggers as to what would happen, message or new ship appears ect.
[/li][li]Use the time filter in the top bar to set to the time of the mission and then you can make sure all your ships are there and see what side they are on at the time of the mission (they will all be colour coded)
[/li][li] Then validate with the validate button, it will tell you all the problems and then you can fix them. (waypoints too close, ships too close ect.
[/li][li]Then save the mission in a folder in the single missions folder. Important!! make sure the mission and folder name are the same or it wont appear in game, i made this dumb mistake lol
I think thats it, shout me if there is anything else you need to know! And let us know if you find out anything else cool!!
(phew aching fingers... that speed typing skill came in usefull then
)
