I'm just wondering if there are any of you out there that played Red Storm Rising back in the early 90's, on the Commodore 64? The sim was amazing. You could launch Tomahawks, Cruise Missle Attacks, dive thru the thermal layers. Drive Los Angeles Class Attack Subs. Launch Mark Torps, going active and searching, then with nothing found, and you were too close, it would find you! LOL. Dang, I'm old. Ciao, Dan

I bought it for my commodore 64 but could never get it to work I was gutted because it looked amazing lolz. In the end i had to take it back and exchange it. I hope they release a modern sub game at some point, that would be too cool but i think there is little demand for sims which is a massive pity.

My condolences. You missed something special. Sorry, I don't mean to 'rub it in', but it was awesome. I actually took out a helo with a missile once. It was sweet.
As for sims, I must agree. A full modern sub sim would be awesome. But even Nascar racing has taken aback to future releases. The blame is all put on the consoles, xbox, playstation etc... They are cheaper and easier to sell, since they are one fifth the cost of a good gaming computer. Hey, are u gonna spend $100,000 bucks on a team to sell 50,000 pc games or spend $100,000 on a team to sell 3 million console games? Yeah, I know, it sucks. It's reality.

I figured out the prob. Seems for some reason Firefox won't display the options on the yellow bar. I will use IE until I figure out a solution.
Thanks, Dan

I loved Red Storm Rising. Because of it, I actually joined the Navy and was stationed in Iceland for awhile. You know, the book and the game were not far from the truth. Go Tom Clancy!
The game was great. I had played Silent Service forever when I got RSR. What a switch! At first I didn't like it, but I could start identifying ships by their sound signature and computing solutions in my head. It was great! It worked better on the C64 than it did on a PC.
I have 688(i) Hunter/Killer which is a great sim. I don't get to play it much. It is fairly detailed like SH3. It has more documentation, that's for sure. I never finished the campaign on 688, but I always mean to go back and try.
I am old too!
