game problems, pls help

greetings!

on my ninth patrol off kiel, i received a radio message saying, "the base is changed to st. nazaire" then, later another one saying, "the base is changed to kiel" then back to st. nazaire, to kiel, etc. the message keeps repeating. on my nav map, st. nazaire is nowhere to be found on the french west coast except brest, lorient and bourdeux. so i installed the flotilla mod, and this stopped the radio message from repeating. i only get the message that the base is changed to st. nazaire, but it's still not on the map!

on the same patrol, when i was at my assigned patrol grid, i saved the game when my boat was on the surface, recharging my batteries. the weather was very bad, and there was this c-class destroyer in the area too. when i loaded the game, a few seconds later, it ctd! and it happens all the time when i load it. of all the 8 patrols, i never had a serious ctd than this. now i cant go on with my mission.

i really like this game. if anyone had problems like these before, pls help me fix them. thanks.

I cant help with the ctd problem, but the base-change thing is a common one, that is fixed very easily by applying patch 1.2

after applying the patch, load a saved game where you are in port, and restart that patrol again, carry on from there.

thanks, anyway. i never patched the game during my 8 patrols, and never had any serious problem either besides this ctd crap.

this ctd problem is just infuriating! i've already spent a few hours and sunk 10 ships including a C3 Cargo and 2 C2 Cargo ships en route to my patrol grid. now it looks like they're all a waste! this never happened on my previous 8 patrols.

yea its bloody annoying, though I've only had a couple of CTDs. so I save fairly often.

anyway, I'd patch to 1.2, and load a game from port and see how it goes...

finally, i got rid of the ctd problem on that saved game (by deleting the saved game itself and starting over!) and continued on my u-boat career. i just finished my 9th patrol and i thought the first one (the one i deleted) was good enough in terms of how many ships i sent to the bottom. heck, starting my 9th patrol all over again turned out to be one hell of a massacre! i sunk more ships from that of my 2nd patrol!

now, my boat is based in st. nazaire. i haven't installed patch v1.2 yet that's why the base's name is still missing on the map. i'll try to find out if it won't affect my 10th patrol.

Since you are in base, install the patch, it won't effect your campaign and you can pickup where you left off.
