I got this game March 18th,day it was published,never had any real problems certainly no crashes or anything like that then, middle of last week went to load my latest campaign everything normal and the next thing I know I,m staring at my desktop icons! :oAfter I cleaned my curry off the carpet,I took a deep breath and rebooted.'No problem',I told myself.'These things happen to other poor souls whose posts I see regularly on the Help Forums not to me, it'll be ok this time.'....Campaign loading screen.Red bar running steadily to the right,yeah she's ok!Initializing!CRASH!!Desktop. :'(Reinstall,same thing Reinstall,same again >:(Reinstall,seems ok now but I can't get interface off screen ???Reinstall.Seems ok.Tentatively I try everything.Everything works!!! ;DOnly problem now is my mental state every time I load the game.

For random intermittent crashes like that, and I'm sorry if you're way ahead of me, you may want to have a look at the system temperature. Possible/unlikely/dunno..

Longdog, you might want to run any antivirus, spyware, and adware progs you have as a first step. As SH3 appears to have been running flawlessly since 18th March and then all of a sudden it's CTD's, something might have sneaked on to your machine that you don't want.

Check any fans on your graphic card are working ok too. If that one stops, temperatures soar and hey presto, you are back to desktop. Normal programs might work but games really knock hell out of your card.

You might want to check the type of curry you were eating!! Might have melted through the floor like in Aliens
