Hi, MarshalLaw
August 14th 1944 Russia
Stalin has responded to Churchill stating the war will go on unless all terms are met even if all convoys to Russia are stopped.
Germany
The New Government will deploy the troops from the west on there eastern border to construct a number of defensive lines and to stand firm when the time arrives when the Soviet army reaches them.
The Western Allies Due to Starlin being stubborn on this one issue they seat down and try to resolve the matter and find a number of solutions which they can present Starlin with.

Hey Richard,
Aug. 15th 1944:
With the Soviets not honoring a cease fire, German forces continue to reinforce the eastern front. 95% of former western front forces have now been redeployed to Eastern front positions. German forces have stopped the Kiev offensive cold and have pushed back Russian forces 6 KM in the last 24 hours. Gen Beck has been told by Eisenhower to sit tight as the Allies try to convince the Soviets to the peace table. He is ordered to hold his current positions and do not advance any further into Russian territory. Beck agrees and relays the order to all front line commanders.
Meanwhile in the Atlantic 3 convoys bound for Russia are ordered to return to port and await further orders.
In London Churchill consults with Roosevelt on how to break the stalemate with Stalin. Roosevelt states that all Stalin is doing is to try to grab as much power and land as he can so he can solidify his power base. That way he hopes to dictate terms to the Western Allies after the war. Churchill agrees and want to call Stalins bluff, But Roosevelt convinces Churchill to wait and give diplomacy a chance to work first. 2 counter offers are sent to Stalin the next day including a pledge from the western Allies to help Russia rebuild after the war.. However The Allies stand firm on the Himmler issue.. They await word back from Stalin.
Meanwhile in Berlin the last of the NAZI leadership is captured and placed under arrest. All German military forces are now under control of the New gov. The last German officer to be arrested is Admiral Dornitz for his failure to back the New Gov.

Hi, MarshalLaw
August 20th - 31st 1944 Russia
The Soviet army launches a major offensive the German army is pushed back all along the central and southern fronts in some areas they have advanced up to 30 plus miles. The German army group center has been hit the hardest. Starlin no longer talks to his former allies until such time that all his demands are met then and only then will Starlin reopen talks.
America Calls are being made bring the troops home and just hand over Himmler to the Russians and be done. Japan is the issue of the day after all they bombed us not the Germans.
The Western Allies There is a slow breakdown going on internal disputes this of course is not helping the new fragile German government.

Hi, MarshalLaw
September to December 1944
Russia over 70% of Russia has been liberated Field Marshal Manstein feels it a wast of time remaining in Russia and has withdrawn the army to eastern Europe and to hold fast behind a number of defensive lines. By years end Russia is free of German forces and Starlin is in a good mood and after a number of months not talking to his former allies in the west in a surprise move a communication sent to Churchill on 5th January 1945 the talks are back on.
Germany During this period Himmler's health has decline the chances of him standing trail look at best optimistic. Mean time the New German Government has stabilized and at last the situation has calmed down only the war in the east must be resolved or all they have worked for would be lost as the Soviet army grows near.
The Western Allies With the unrest back home in America a number of troops are pulled out of Europe and to be sent to the Pacific. British troops remain and are relocated to perform new duties along with the remaining American troops.
America On January 6th the President is informed of Starlin's good mood and the talks are back on.

Hey Richard,
Aug. - Dec. 1944:
On the eastern front the Soviets launch another offensive and are able to push German forces back up to 30 KM along a 75KM front in over one weeks time. Lines stabilize and German forces are able to stop the Soviet advance. In late Oct. under orders from Beck, Gen Manstine begins to withdraw German forces to the Russian border along the whole Eastern front. By mid Dec. all German forces are withdrawn from Russian soil and have taken up positions on the other side of the border.
Meanwhile in Berlin Himmler's health has started to decline. War trails are to start March 1st in Vienna. German doctors treating Himmler are split on whether Himmler will survive to stand trial. German doctors are doing all they can , but Himmler has lost the will to live.
In America a public fire storm to bring the troops home has finally convinced Roosevelt to act. 70% of American troops are withdrawn and are back home in time for Christmas. the remaining troops are to stay with the British to assist in post war operations.
In Germany the Beck Gov. is firmly in control. German cities except for extreme eastern Germany are free of Soviet air attacks, and have started the long progress of rebuilding. The Beck Gov. is still under the watchful eye of Allied observers, but there have been no reported problems. The new Gov. continues to honor all peace agreements in full.

Hey Richard,
Jan. 1945: In early Jan. Stalin contacts Churchill and request that peace talks between Russia and Germany be started as soon as possible now that German forces have withdrawn from Russian soil. Word is relayed to Germany and by Jan. 7th a cease fire is in effect along the Russian border. On Jan. 9th Gen. Rommel and members of the Beck Gov. along with western Allied leaders meet with the Soviets in a Villa outside of Kiev to begin peace talks. All of Europe are hopeful that peace may finally come to the region.
In America elements of the European Army prepare to be redeployed to the Pacific theater by the end of Jan.
In Germany Col. Stauffenberg is found murdered in his villa outside of Munich on Jan. 14th. The Beck Gov. is stunned by the news and wonder if a NAZI under ground movement maybe starting.

Hey Richard,
Jan - March 1945:
In Germany Col. Stauffenberg is given a state funeral and a massive hunt begins for his killers. In 2 weeks time 5 people are arrested for the plot. Through interrogations it is learned that a Pro NAZI under ground movement is gaining steam. Though small for now it is well organized and financed. The hunt continues for more under ground members and security is tighten around Beck other gov. officials.
Peace talk near Kiev have gone well, the Soviets have backed off of their demands for Himmler once Soviet doctors confirmed that Himmler was close to death. A 2nd cease fire is scheduled to go into effect on Feb. 15th at 3 PM Russian time.
Feb 15th the new cease fire goes into effect and peace talks are back on to bring a end to the war. All of Europe holds their breath and hopes for the best. On Feb. 19th the Beck Gov. announces that Himmler has died. Allied observers confirm the report.
On March 1st peace talks have concluded. Germany is to move their armies to the German border and with draw all claims to the eastern Europe region. In exchange Soviet forces will not enter Germany. However Soviet Observers will join Western Allied observers to monitor progress. A target date of March 12th is agreed on as end of hostilities. Allied leaders along with Germany agree to postpone the Vienna war trials until April 1st.
On March 11th a road side bomb explodes in the heart of Berlin as a motorcade passes by. Several high ranking Beck Gov. officials are killed in the blast, but Gen. Beck is not hurt. Later that day Berlin is locked down and Martial law is imposed as a massive hunt begins for suspected NAZI under ground fighters.
Late on March 12th the last of the German forces have crossed the German border. Final Communications with the Soviets are made and it is agreed that Hostilities will officially end on March 13th at 6 AM Russian time.
March 13th all is quiet, then at 6:01 AM as if on cue a loud cheer goes up through out Europe as the fighting is finally over. All leaders involved are glad and relieved that the nightmare is finally over. However 2 more task remain to be done. The War crimes trial in Vienna and to crush the last of the NAZI underground movement inside Germany.

Hey Richard,
April 1945 - onward:
War crimes trails are completed, some NAZI leaders are hanged, others receive sentences from 10 years to life. Admiral Dornitz is found guilty but spends only 10 years behind bars. Goering is hanged along with other inner circle Nazi's.
By early 1946 there is peace through out the world, Japan is defeated and the long process of rebuilding begins. The NAZI under ground movement within Germany disbands by mid year as the Beck Gov. hunts down the Nazi's and delivers swift and deadly punishment. Most in the NAZI movement either disband all together or flee to South America along with the few NAZI leaders that were lucky enough to escape before the Beck Gov. sealed off all German borders.
Gen. Beck remains in power until 1950, when Germany holds it's first free elections in many years. He retires and dies 8 years later. Germany remains free and Democratic to present day.
