Lane, do you have any image software, such as Image Composer, or Adobe? If not, you should be able to convert within your "paint" program which can be found under programs/accessories/paint. If you mess around within this program you will find the different options. It's not as good as the more expensive programs, but it should work for you. In addition, if you have a digital camera program installed on your system, this might give you some options too.
Not sure if this helps any, I'm not the best with this kind of stuff.
Next question, do you have any webspace available where you can post your photo? Dont hesitate to ask for help. I will try the best I can to work with you.

Hit Start/programs/accessories/paint/ Go to file and hit open, then direct within "look in" to your C drive/programs/ubisoft/silenthunter/ files where you will find your screen shot. click on your ss and bring it into "paint". Notice the dots at bottom of photograph, bring your cursor over dot and you will see the arrows, indicating how your can drag the photo up therebye cutting out the gauges. I couldnt find an option for actually reducing the overall proportional size of the photo within paint. Now here is the biggie......Go up to "Save as" and then select JPEG. Make sure you rename your file then save it as a JPEG and remember where you saved it too. BMP are just too big to mess with. Now you have to upload the photograph to a URL, but if you want to just try what youve got, just email it to me, and I will see if I can post it for you. Make sure its a JPEG and not a BMP, you can check this by looking at its properties. Im on dialup and megabytes are just too much for me..hehee vonz@shentel.netIn addition, you can hit the "file" within Paint and you will see an option for set as background, centered. If you select this option you should have your photo saved to your desktop. Just kinda cool to have it as a background.....You should do this with BMP only within "paint"as I am not sure the JPEG will work as background, within this program. I havent tried it myself within paint. Bye the way, Im 50 years old and anyone 68 wanting to mess with this stuff, will get all the help I can give him.

I do it like this, I think it's better: Before taking a screenshot in the game, hit the "Del" key on the numeric keypad (make sure Num. Lock is on). This will remove all the dials, text, all the game interface so you can take a better screenshot. Then you can hit ctrl-F11 to take a screenshot (but you knew that, hehe). OK then you can open the picture up in Irfanview (I use Irfanview, it's the best free simple image manipulation program about, so stick with that program). Resizing is very easy: just go to the menu bar Image, then choose Resize/Resample (or you can just press Ctrl-R to bring up the resize/resample screen). I've found that 75% is a good size for posting on forums, so just choose the "Set new size as percentage of original" option, and change the Width and Height settings to 75%. Click OK, and your picture will be resized. Converting to JPEG is as simple as choosing "Save as." So when you've finished altering your picture, just go to File/Save As (or press the little disk icon, or press Ctrl-S), and make sure the "save as type" box is set as "JPG - JPEG", then just choose a name for your picture and hit Save. Then to upload it. Go to imageshack.us/(by the way, to post a web address here, yeah, just copy and paste it, don't have to do anything fancy Click "Choose" and then find your picture in JPEG format to upload it, and click "Host it". I think you know the rest, when it's finished uploading just copy the address of the image ("hotlink for forums (1)" works well), and paste it in a forum. You see, imageshack will put the tags around the address for you, so you don't have to add them manually. I've tried to be pretty exhaustive, and maybe patronisingly so, but I wanted to do a complete run-through. I'm not sure if I've missed anything, if you're still having problems, don't hesitate to ask again. hope this helps.

Nice picture you can use paint, i use it. Its the basic program that comes with XP You seem to have it now anyway but if you want to use paint. Go to Image in the paint menu, then Stretch and Skew Then set horizontal and vertical to 75% each. Then save and select jpg from the file type list. The other programs guys mentioned work much better then paint though.

yea Mike, theyre saved in the root SH3 folder, ie. it'll be something like: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII
they're saved as bmps, so it's best to convert them to jpg before uploading them anywhere.
